In yonder valley doth my dreams inspire
A tale of love and heartīs desire
As I lie here in sweet repose
In slumber doth my mind impose
A message to the young at heart
Who bear the pain of cupidīs dart
That all is never what it seems
The lust of man infects your dreams
With peacock guile he will enhance
With cunning wit will he entrance
He speaks of love he wishes well
And then he has you in his spell
Then comes the time for him to go
And so evolves this tale of woe
He leaves you for he has a lover
While telling you there is no other
When he departs you feel the pain
Like me a victim driven insane.
So heed my words as I depart
And so avoid a broken heart
