Evening Calm

In the calmness of the evening,
the sun has now receded.
When living things have gone to rest
and feathered friends are in their nests.

The silvery moon commands the sky,
lighting up the clouds so high.
Creating a setting in shimmering haze
in contrast to the passing day.

Moonbeams caress the gentle stream,
bathing it in a silvery sheen.
Dark silhouettes of bladed grass
show as the shadows of darkness cast.

From daytime peace to peace of night,
entwined reflect a wondrous sight.
To relax the mind and behold its worth,
this evening setting of planet earth.
