Vivien Leucht

inspired by atonement by Ian McEwan

She have to contemplate in gloom
As conveyer she shouldn’t read it
                        she shouldn’t doom.

The clumsy attempt to disguise
A narrow path between embarrassment and stupidity
as a liar and a thief.

No reconciliation ‘till the dusk of her life
Haunting in her thoughts all time
like in her stomach a big knife.

Against despair there’s only insight and the truth
To seal the atonement at the end
                        nothing more to lose.
