Demotion - Entfühlung

  Demotion

When I saw you today
I was afraid
You could be taking
A picture of my heart
Where you would expect
To see emotions fade
Just that it isn’t the case.

On your way you stopped
And let my friend pass the street
We kissed - I asked you to
Told you I’d be ready for that
And you looked me in the eye
Questioning, deliberately hesitating

Good thing you didn’t picture my heart

(Have you not
Long forgotten the confession I made?
Should have, though, I think of it suddenly
Rather reluctant you
Shared our afternoon
And liked my hands Of grace and rings
See me, my friend, Still here for you.
Has been long Talking to you.)
