Justine Knolle

The Sound of Sand

When we are walking,
hand in hand
across the shore.
An embrace, a fleeting kiss,
and maybe more.

When we are talking,
silence to sound.
Words are lost,
and words are found.

Did you see what I saw?
Pure, refined,
elegant and raw?

It was Capella the Star,
twinkling to us from afar.
Keeping her doors open -
wide ajar.

There in the dark,
an abounding spark.
