A Lonely Night

Loneliness all around. I sit and stare out the shattered window in the attic and shed some more tears as time goes on. The windīs howling outside and I can hear the coyotes wailing deep in the woods.

Iīm not afraid. Iīm not angry. Just lonely and in complete despair. I hear the door creaking below me, but I donīt care. Childrenīs laughter down the street I hear and lift up my head to hear if my nameīs called. So alone. The fireīs almost out in the fireplace and a chillīs building in the house. The night feels so long and never ending. I close my eyes and wait to dream again.
