Rolph David

Living in a Major World, in Minor Key!

The mornings rise but never glow too bright,
The daylight fades in softened shades of blue;
Some lives are written in the chords of light,
Mine stays where minor tones remain more true.

I walk through crowded rooms in minor key,
A phantom stitched beneath electric light;
The laughter drifts in distant harmony,
While silence blooms like roses in the night.

And still there lives a beauty in the ache,
A deeper music moving through the bone;
For hearts in minor keys are hard to break,
They build their quiet symphonies alone.

So if my soul sounds muted, minor-key,
It only means I live in harmony.
