THE LOSSES

…everything flew with brilliance and thirst over my soul
and I sought to see
the humblest things:
the light, the table, the walls, the simple bread,

and there they were;

…with shame I gathered my body
after so many farewells,
and a taste, a desire to live,
gave pity and love to my existence.
