Letter to God II

Dear God,
Could you arrange for me
To be dead?
Just for a day,
Or two or three
Instead.
I’d like to play
With the angels
Up in your heaven.
I imagine
It’s not unlike
Cornwall or Devon.
And,
Do you have restaurants,
Cafés, and bars?
And,
Do people take buses,
Or do they drive cars?
And,
When do you close?
Does it ever get dark?
Do you have dogs?
And,
If so,
Do they bark?
Could I make a reservation
For a night.
Single room.
And,
Could you make preparations
For my grave,
For my tomb?
I’d like to see
What it’s like up there.
To get acquainted,
For later, you know.
When I have a single fare.
Thanks God,
And see you soon.
I’ll park my car
To the left of the Moon.
