A Snail's Place

Moving along at that snail’s pace,
You will never win the hurdle race!
Well, although the Snail may take
Her precious time,
She always gets there in the end.
For, in the meantime,
She has many learned lessons to attend.
She may pay a visit
To her friend, the Butterfly.
And say: “ Please, today,
Just a cut and dry.”
And so, she slithers along her track
Leaving behind a silvery trail.
She is on her way,
All the way back,
To the dusty town of San Ch’Aîl.
To where she left her pining lover.
In the church, that draughty place.
Oh, how she cannot wait
To see again his smiling face.
