The Song of the Nightingale

At midnight in moonlight

at the banks of a creek

rises a singing out of the reeds.

A lonely bird sings its melody,

a song full of longing and harmony.

It sounds until daybreak through all the night,

the listener’s heart goes peaceful and quiet.
