Walk in the Park

Thrilled with the morning sky
I wander alone through the park.
A virgin layer of snow has fallen
and the trees are looking stark.

The greenery has now faded.
Sunrays through the branches show,
creating such scenic beauty
reflecting the surface of snow.

I wander in my solitude
in this most enchanted place,
breathing fresh of morning air.
It is the essence of life I taste.

I am filled with great exultation.
As snowflakes kiss my cheeks.
Respecting in awe such beauty
what simpler pleasures can one seek?

Transfixed by such devastating beauty,
I survey the deep blue of the sky.
Exhilaration expands within me
as I cast my eyes on high.

I give praise to the Almighty
for the gifts He bestows on mankind.
Suddenly I am feeling humbled,
knowing this was his design

Soon the snow scene will fade
The birth of spring draws near.
A venerable time for all seasons
Natures gifts throughout the year.
