Swati Krishnan

Alone with courage

The waves kiss my legs
And take away the dregs
Of joy left behind by life,
And my solitary strife,
Against the vagaries multitudes
Posed by the viccissitudes
of a whimsical fate,
dies like a date.

A shining new morn
fresh as fate is born,
And Lo, with a smile I prepare
to embrace its messy fare
