Hendrik Sollich

peal

another hand full happy pills
if it was'n for the sugar its for the chocolate
no song is left - no fills
yet I despise  denial of what we could have had

where can I look without seeing you
not even mirrors show my face
you glance at me - I try to  poke through
my finger cut on the cracking glass

I pinch - I twitch - I peal my skin
but I'm not the one to change my ways
the ways were ours - we had them in
and also had those flaming days

when lightning struck us both at once
I told you it was for a reason
you'd doubt my judgement and you forced
the flame did grow - until depletion
