Wendy C. Barton

Familiar

I pull you close enough to smell
you make me crazy, can't you tell?

We love because we want to
we can't love
because we have to

When it's dry at the source
it continues beating
with unsatiable force

I feel warm when I'm feeding
as I feel you pulsate
while you lay bleeding

I never lose the pleasure
of the familiar
especially, when done in measure
