We’ll row up the rivers,
All the way up
To the stately château.
Where we’ll drink tea,
And have chocolate gâteau.
We’ll incautiously tread,
Through the fields, grass, and meads -
Oh, would you look at that!
The river is full of trout!
Quick, get your nets, rods,
And other fishing gear out!
We’ll catch some for supper,
With lemon, crispily grilled.
And drink with it some wine,
In pitchers. Deliciously chilled.
What a feast we shall have,
‘Til high is the moon.
Goodbye for now friends!
Please, come again soon.
We’ll have music and dance,
The next time you’re here,
And fireworks too.
They’ll make us laugh, clap, and cheer.
Our excitement will buzz
Like crickets at dusk.
Au revoir, mes amis!
Mais oui, à bientôt!
Ici à Vufflens,
Au canton de Vaud.
