Inge Hoppe-Grabinger

If I knew by heart the primes (Primzahlen)

If I knew by heart the primes
that I ploughed so many times,

if I knew why winds do blow
why they swivel while they go,

if I knew why waves do break
for some gloomy unknown sake

if I knew why sand does glide
where to stay and where to hide,

certainly, and this is true,
It's all nothing without you.
