A poppy bloomed
beneath her feet,
a desolate Place
a lover to meet.
He stepped out
from darken night,
a silhouette
in candlelight.
A smile,
her lips did part.
dizzy head
and beating heart.
Love not this one
she had been warned,
upon these words
she poured scorn.
A second time,
a desolate place.
not him, but silence
filled the space.
As darkness
turned to misty dawn,
she awoke.
cold, alone and quite forlorn.
