Rolph David

To Live Is To Fight!

In the crab basket's crowded zone,
Where crabs in concert strive alone.
Each reaching for the distant height,
Yet held by others in the fight.

The crabs, as they crawl from the basket's keep,
Allege naught, yet hinder others' leap.
No unity or kindness shown,
Just forceps that grasp, and hearts of stone.

Though freedom's chance seems almost nigh,
The crabs succumb to envy's sigh.
A mirror to our selfish ways,
Where empathy's a fleeting blaze.

But from this tale, a lesson gleams,
That disagreement can shatter our dreams.
But together, we can break the bind
And rise above, with strength aligned.
